This is how we work with AI

At the University of Skövde, we are in the midst of an exciting time where artificial intelligence (AI) plays a significant role in many aspects of our research. We see it as an enabler, a tool to solve complex problems, but at the same time, it is important that we highlight and critically examine the use of AI. We work interdisciplinary and in collaboration with the surrounding society to drive the transition towards a sustainable future.

AI has proven to be a powerful resource within the industry, optimizing production processes, reducing waste, and enhancing product quality. In healthcare, AI has the potential to revolutionise how we discover and develop new drugs and treatments that can improve the quality of life for many. AI can also be used to anticipate healthcare needs, and through the analysis of medical images such as X-rays and CT scans, we can swiftly and accurately detect diseases and injuries, leading to earlier diagnoses and better treatment outcomes.

And these are just a few examples. However, research is essential to achieve the positive effects and avoid negative consequences successfully. Here, we have gathered some examples of how we, together with our partners, contribute to creating a sustainable future through AI.
