Internationalization: The University of Skövde visits South Korea

An important part of the University of Skövde’s internationalization process, is to develop new and attractive exchange agreements with foreign universities. Currently, the University of Skövde has 90 such agreements in thirty countries. And soon, there may be more. Vice-Chancellor Sigbritt Karlsson and Deputy Vice-Chancellor Afrouz Behboudi will travel to South Korea to explore the possibilities of cooperation with several South Korean universities.

Since 2012, the University of Skövde has explored examined the possibilities of establishing new partnerships with universities in South Korea. Now, this process has reached the next level – Vice-Chancellor Sigbritt Karlsson and Deputy Vice-Chancellor Afrouz Behboudi travel to South Korea to visit seven different universities in different parts of South Korea.

– We are looking forward to an intense program in South Korea, says Afrouz Behboudi, in five days we will visit seven universities that could be possible collaboration partners to the University of Skövde in terms of student exchange. We will make an evaluation and determine the best possible strategic options for our students.

When the University of Skövde examines suitable partner universities, the focus is on finding a good learning environment for students; taking both the security aspects and the types of courses given in English at the foreign university are taken into account. On this visit, both private and public institutions will be looked at, including a university for women only.
