Research Ethics, Post-graduate level, 5 credits, IT925F
What are we allowed to do, ethically speaking, as part of our research? What sorts of research are forbidden outright, and what sorts are controlled and constrained in some fashion? We may have a general idea of the answers to these questions, but for PhD students there can still be many question marks. This course investigates practical and theoretical ethical frameworks for research, in order to begin to answer these questions, and thereby clarify what a researcher’s ethical rights and responsibilities actually are.
