Divisions at the School of Bioscience

The School of Bioscience is divided into three divisions.

The Division of Bioinformatics, biomedicine and ecology

The division is home to the educational subjects Bioinformatics, Bioscience and Ecology. The division teaches parts of the preparatory foundation year, undergraduate programmes of Bioscience as well as on the advanced level programmes of Bioinformatics. The division also conducts research in Bioinformatics and Ecology, which is connected to the research in Systems Biology that is being conducted by the School. Head of Division is Angelica Lindlöf.

The Division of Cognitive Neuroscience and Philosophy

The division is home to the educational subjects of Cognitive Neuroscience and Philosophy. The division teaches the undergraduate programmes Consciousness studies and Psychological Coach, as well as on the advanced level program of Cognitive Neuroscience. The division also conducts research in Cognitive Neuroscience and Philosophy, which is connected to the research in Systems Biology that is being conducted by the School. Head of Division is Sakari Kallio.

The Division of Molecular Biology

The division is home to the educational subjects Molecular Biology, Systems Biology and Chemistry. The division teaches parts of the preparatory foundation year, the undergraduate programmes of Biomedicine and Bioscience as well as on the advanced level programmes of Infection Biology and Molecular Biotechnology. The research conducted in Systems Biology, Molecular Biotechnology and Infection Biology at the division is mirrored in the range of educational subjects. Head of Division is Mikael Ejdebäck.
