Applied Mechanics
The master programme (1 year) in applied mechanics focuses on the development of analytical skills to solve complex problems within the area of mechanics. The courses given during the first semester gives a good background for advanced engineering work in industry. They also form a basis towards postgraduate studies. This means an extensive theoretical content combined with numerical methods. The theoretical part of the programme is represented by courses in dynamics and fracture mechanics. The numerical part is characterized by linear and non-linear analyses using the finite element method. During the entire programme, both theoretical and numerical problems are taken from real problems. To finalize your degree, you will also carry out a master's dissertation project during the final semester. This is made within the field of mechanics.

Serious Games
Computer games are used throughout our society. People play on the bus, at home and at work and we can see how computer games concern a number of areas in the society of today. Furthermore, we see an important industry emerging. The term “serious games” refers to games that engage the user, and contribute to the achievement of a defined purpose other than pure entertainment (whether or not the user is consciously aware of it). The additional purposes can, for example, be education, training, health care or marketing.
The study program is about developing and analyzing serious games. There is a strong practical focus meaning that you will spend much time on developing and evaluating serious games.
Type of degree
Degree of Master of Science (One Year) with a major in Informatics.

System Biology – two year Master's Programme
The two year master’s program contains courses building up the student skills in modeling techniques and analyses of systems biology, i.e. a network of interacting biological components. The systems being studied range from the molecular and cellular levels (biomedicine, molecular biology, bioinformatics, physiology), to populations of individuals (theoretical ecology). Modeling and analyses of a biological system can provide unexpected insights into the emergent behaviors of complex systems, such as a cell, organ or ecosystem. These are properties that are only apparent in the context of the whole system. The systems biology approach offers new insights to understand diseases, develop prognosis methods and give vital clues for finding treatments for diseases. The systems biology approach can also supply important information regarding sustainable resources and environmental hazards.
