With a Master's degree in Bioinformatics I was able to make a fusion of my skills from both computer programming and the wet lab. I always wanted to be a researcher, and the skills obtained from this program helped me to get a position as PhD student at Göteborg University. This well-planned program was properly taught and very well executed and I think that the personalized attention given to the development of each student is one of the best qualities of the University of Skövde. Inspite of being a small town, Skövde is very beautiful and friendly. “

I chose the Bioinformatics programme because I was always interested in combining computer science with biology. We can advance knowledge by bridging these two rather different worlds. The University of Skövde is a friendly and very well organised place for study. The
courses are high quality and there is a constant effort to make old and new students feel at home and have a positive experience for their time of study. After finishing my degree, I started as PhD student at University College Dublin, Ireland. The training I've got in Sweden is helping me a lot to adapt to new challenges as a PhD student. “

I chose the Bioinformatics programme because it was new for the industry and the whole program was in English. I liked that the program was modular so we learnt much without having pressure. The university is small and friendly. I could always contact my professors or mentors whenever I was in need, academically or personally. After graduating, I got a job in a large software development company in Montreal, Canada. From my studies, I got the confidence in programming with mathematical data which is essential for a consultant.”
