Library computers and user accounts
In the library there are a number of computers for public use. Three of them are reserved for searching the library catalogue. There are two computer labs with 9 computers each. Furthermore, there are 6 computer work stations at the main floor and 11 computer work stations at the ground floor. The computers are equipped with Microsoft Office and have Internet access. Students use their student user accounts to login. Staff without a user account and external visitors are asked to contact the Information desk.
Computer labs
There are two computer labs in the library, Bib202 and Bib203. The labs are available during the library’s opening hours. However, sometimes Bib202 is booked for library instruction.
Wireless network
The wireless network, Eduroam, can be accessed in the library. Please contact the IT-service helpdesk if you have questions about this.
Print-outs
Print-outs will be charged from your student print quota. External visitors can make a few print-outs (2 Skr/copy). There are two printers in the library, one at the ground floor and one by the computer labs, upstairs at the very back of the library.
Photocopies
There is a copy machine to the left of the Information desk (behind the wall). You will need a copy card to be able to use it. These can be bought at Reprocentralen (in Building A). It is also possible to borrow a copy card at the Information desk (2 Skr/copy).
Scanning
The copy machine can also be used as a scanner. You enter you mail address on the copy machine and the scanner will automatically send a PDF to your inbox. Unfortunately there is still only a Swedish tutorial, but you can probably still follow the steps 1, 2 and 3. You start scanning each document by pressing the big green button and switch documents until your last document is scanned, finish by pressing the hash (#) sign.
Group study rooms
At the ground floor there are twelve group study rooms. Ten small rooms (for 4-5 persons) and two larger rooms (8 persons). Six of the rooms can be booked in advance (there are booking lists outside the rooms). There is an additional group study room (for 8 persons) opposite the computer labs upstairs.
Search Lab
Upstairs, at the very back of the library, you will find our Search Lab (Bib203). Here a librarian will help you with information seeking for your student thesis etc. Opening hours are Tuesday and Thursday 10.00 – 12.00 and 13.00 – 14.00. Book a computer on a list by the door.
Study Support Center
When you enter the library you find the Study Support Center to the left. Here you can get some help with study techniques, academic writing etc. The support in English is yet to be developed (Dec. 2011).
