Professor inaugurations are academic ceremonies that are held every other year at the University of Skövde. This year the ceremony will be on October 12th and the following three professors will be appointed:
- Afrouz Behboudi, a cancer researcher who studies gene expression in tumor cells. She will be appointed as professor of biomedicine.
- Ilona Heldal who researches on the development and use of interactive systems. She will be appointed as professor of computer sciences.
- Vessela Misheva who researches on emotion sociology and social entrepreneurship. She will be appointed as professor in social psychology.
The professor inauguration is a traditional ceremony that is open to the public. Besides the inauguration, the University of Skövde offers processions, beautiful clothes, speeches, joy and lots of music.
On October 12th in the morning, the new professors will deliver their inaugural lectures. They will describe the essence of their scientific work. The inaugural lectures are also open to everyone who would like to listen.
