Author guidelines

 

Criteria for manuscript acceptance

  • Relevance with respect to the scientific scope, purpose and chosen theme of the journal
  • High linguistic, communicative and rhetorical clarity and accessibility
  • Relevance from a general Educational Scientific perspective
  • Theoretical and methodological applicability
  • Other criteria that are important in relation to the current theme and focus

Language

Articles can be submitted in Swedish, Danish, Norwegian or English. Articles should include a summary in English (for an article in Swedish), or in Swedish (for an article in english), keywords and author's affiliation/title in English. We publish in UK English. Funds available for proofreading  are very limited. The author is asked to bear for this. The author can apply for Proofreading grants at the Swedish Research Council.

Formatting instructions in brief

Pages should be between 4000-7000 words, abstracts and references excluded. Send figures and pictures in separate documents for best reproduction. For references use the APA style. See Detailed author guidelines.

Submission of manuscripts

Your article should be submitted as a Microsoft Word document to utbildning-och-larande@his.se

Publishing Policy

Articles should not have been published elsewhere. If the article has been submitted to another journal we must be notified. When the article has been accepted for publication it will be published in a print version on the website of the journal and as a printed matter (a book) and electronically in DiVA (University of Skövde electronic Open Access publication).

Arrangement for publishing article

When the article has been accepted for publication, each author must sign a publishing agreement concerning the conditions that apply. The agreement signed must be received by the editors before publication.

Review process

The submissions are reviewed in two steps. In the first step, the submitted manuscripts are reviewed by the editors and by the guest editor of the current theme. The manuscripts that the editors and the guest editor deems relevant, based on the above assessment criteria, will be sent to  selected anonymous, independent reviewers, who are appointed by the editors. The reviewers will establish and communicate the audit through a review scheme that is sent to the editors: utbildning-och-larande@his.se, which communicates the audit to the author.
