This workshop features invited speakers on Information Fusion as well as highlights from InfoFusion - the Skövde Information Fusion Research Program. One part of the program puts special focus on the industry partners, highlights of their project contributions and application-oriented issues. Discussion groups on important issues relevant to the application of Information Fusion techniques to varying application domains are part of the program. All participants in the research program, members of the participating industrial partners and research groups, as well as representatives of funding agencies and other stakeholders, are invited.
The Infofusion program defines an Information Fusion Framework that allows the information fusion processes to be described in a generic way, independent of the application domain, traditionally so dominated by the military scenario. The common generic framework is applied in a number of application domains such as drug development using bioinformatics, adaptive maintenance in manufacturing, precision agriculture, integrating requirements engineering and testing in systems development, customer profiling in the retail sector, as well as ground situation awareness in the military domain. The synergy between the application domains drives development of information fusion algorithms and infrastructure.
