Integrating and coordinating the research from CALIBRE activities will build new knowledge and address key objectives for open platforms, such as transferring lessons derived from open source software development to conventional development and agile methods, and vice versa. CALIBRE also examines hybrid models and best practice scenarios to enable European SMEs and larger institutions to leverage libre software. It further aims to construct a comprehensive research roadmap to guide future open source software research. To secure long-term impact, an important goal of CALIBRE is to establish a European OSS Industry Forum, CALIBRATION, to coordinate policy making into the future. The CALIBRATION Forum and the results of the CALIBRE project will be disseminated through a series of workshops and international conferences in the various partner countries, one of which will be held in Skövde, 3rd March 2006.
CALIBRE will organise 10 international workshops and conferences, in Cork, Haag, Brussels, Paris, Crakow, Bologna, Limerick, Skövde and Madrid. Some of these are specifically coordinated with other major European projects and conferences, including COSPA and the EU’s IST 2004.
