The nature of the European systems development industry is changing. To stay competitive, Swedish companies developing software systems need to be proactive. This requires them to be well informed about the major forces in play. Radical rethinking associated with the libre/open source phenomenon and the adoption of open standards has coincided with major changes in systems development practice, including distributed development and agile methods.
The Skövde team is working with a number of industrial partners in Sweden, including partners which have formally committed to work closely with them in the CALIBRE project. We bring to CALIBRE a Scandinavian perspective, strengthened by our industrial research partners.
