What's that sound?

The alarm signal "Important Notice" is tested four times a year, first Monday in March, June, September and December at 3 pm. The signal can be used to warn of immediate threats such as war, serious fires, gas emissions, acute threats to water supplies, and more. Usually alarm devices in both war and peace. The signal is sometimes called “hoarse Frederick”. It is said to have been coined when the alarm was tested for the first time in 1931 by Dagens Nyheter columnist Oscar Fredrik Rydqvist. The background is said to be that he was as hoarse as the alarm sound was at the time of testing.
