General information about different types of addresses and how to change your address or name.
Use of addresses in Ladok
Ladok is the student admission and documentation system that is used by the University. All data in Ladok is subject to the Swedish principle of public access to official documents and should be regarded as public, i.e. they might upon request be handed out to a third party.
National registration addresses and family names are updated using SPAR, the official Swedish population register, at the beginning of every month during the semester. All students who registers on a study programme/course during the year, take an exam or in any other way have information entered into Ladok are included in this update from SPAR.
New family name or National registration address
There is no need for an active student to inform the University about any changes i family name or national registration address in order to have them changed in Ladok. Contact the Department of Student Affairs if you do not wish to wait for Ladok to be updated via SPAR, make sure to bring a birth certificate or an acceptable identification card with photo to verify the new information.
Changing national registration address
You can change you national registration address at www.adressandring.se
.
Changing temporary address
All mail from the University is normally sent to your national registration address. If you, for a shorter or longer period of time, want to have your mail sent to another address than your national registration address, you should inform the Department of Student Affairs of your temporary address and include the period for which it should be valid. You can change your temporary address in Studentportalen.
The Student Union will be automatically informed of your new temporary address if you use Studentportalen.
I do not have a Swedish Civic registration number
If you are a guest student or if you have yet to receive a Swedish Civic registration number then your national registration address will not be available in SPAR and therefore neither in Ladok. You would in this case be well advised to submit a temporary address.
