Cognitive Science

Cognitive Science is an interdisciplinary subject in which the perspectives of computer science, psychology, philosophy, neurology and linguistics are integrated in the study of thinking, knowledge, communication and interaction between man and technology.

Comparative Literature

Comparative Literature is defined as the critical study of literature from the historical perspective. The subject includes studies and research in the genesis, form, dissemination, reception, impact of and responses to the literary text, and its appraisal.

Computer-based Teaching and Learning

This subject deals with the relationship between Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and the individual's learning in organizations and the community. Aspects such as communication, learning and learning environments, thinking and language as well as organizations and change are dealt with in this subject.

English

This subject covers studies in the English language and literature studies.

Fundamental Theory of Computer Science

This subject covers the study of the basic theory and methodology of the use of computers. It includes algorithms, data structures and programming, and complex and formal languages. This subject can be seen as the theoretical foundation for the study of Computer Science.

Hypermedia Studies

This subject is defined as the science of digital media and their distinguishing features in relation to other media. This area also includes the study of digital media from a wider historical, critical and social perspective.

Information Systems Development

Information Systems Development is an interdisciplinary subject that deals with the design and change of information systems in organizations. This subject focuses on methods, technologies and tools for establishing the users’ needs and the intended functionality of a system early in the development cycle.

Media Studies

This subject is defined as the study of communicative processes, medial technology and linear and non-linear narrative forms.

Pedagogy

This subject covers a broad area that includes teaching and learning, as well as education in the broad general sense, with a particular focus on didactics and working life, looking at learning through theory and practice. This subject also includes values education.

Philosophy

Philosophy comprises the philosophical disciplines related to human action and ideologies, that is, ethics, political philosophy, aesthetics, religious philosophy and philosophical anthropology.

Spanish

This subject covers studies in the Spanish language and literature studies.
