Skövde students won Swedish Game Awards!

The computer game “Room and breakfast” were awarded "Best Serious Game” at Swedish Game Awards, which recently took place. The game is developed by students who are studying at the University of Skövde.

In their motivation, the jury said that the students have with an interesting theme managed to combine something that is difficult to understand with a simple game. A great game in terms of education.

- It was fantastic to win! Also because we have spent so much time and had so much fun while producing it, says Daniela Harmsen.

Serious Games Masters’ program

The game is developed by Daniela Harmsen, Martin Löwgren and Andreas Wilhelmsson.

- All the three of us are studying at the Serious Games Masters’ program at the University of Skövde and the game was developed in a project where the environmental administration in Stockholm had called for a game that would treat the theme of chemicals in everyday life, explains Andreas Wilhelmsson.

The game is designed so that you run a Bed and Breakfast in a small town and its purpose is to continuously identify and take care of chemicals that appear while you furnish and operate the hotel.

- It was interesting and exciting to design a game treating this theme, based on our knowledge of Serious Games.
