The University’s rector may be this year's Public Director


The rector of the University of Skövde, Sigbritt Karlsson, has been nominated to the award "Public Director of the Year". The award ceremony takes place on 29th of May in Stockholm.

The Swedish newspaper Public Affairs awards the winner. This year, Sigbritt Karlsson the rector of the University of Skövde, is one of the directors who have been nominated for the award.

Sigbritt Karlsson is delighted for the nomination and describes the leader she strives to be:

- Leadership for me is to be able to listen, to learn and to show courage. I try to listen by inviting to participate. I try to encourage learning by seeing and supporting the development of all employees' innate abilities. I try to be brave, to stand up for the decisions and the opinions I have, says Karlsson.

The price goes to the director in the public sector who inspires leaders to develop and grow. The person shall also, through his/her leadership, motivate, engage and inspire their employees.
