Altered States of Consciousness G1F, 7,5 ECTS, KU315G

This course includes lectures on theory and research on altered states of consciousness. Areas specifically studied are sleeping, dreaming, hypnosis and meditation.

You will do exercises on standardized methods of hypnotic induction and suggestion, dream diaries and content analysis of dream reports and basic meditation techniques. After the course you will understand the role of altered states of consciousness in the scientific study of consciousness. In addition, through course exercises, you will have acquired practical experience in the study of dreaming, hypnosis and meditation.
