Scandinavian Game Developers Conference (SGDC)
The Scandinavian Game Developers project invites everyone with an interest in games to join us in Skövde for two days of learning and celebration. The event takes place at the University of Skövde campus during the 3rd and 4th of June, and is arranged to incorporate the unveilings of the game development students' project and thesis presentations. In other words, attendees have a perfect opportunity to get a full two days' worth of lectures and workshops free of charge!
The conference gathers developers from all over Scandinavia to give talks and share their experiences and knowledge of the craft of game creation. The conference program covers game audio, design, writing, marketing, freelancing and programming, and we've done our best to make the conference a reflection of the wide range of skills represented at the University of Skövde and Gothia Science Park campus as well as our partners in Viborg (The Animation Workshop and Arsenalet Game Incubator) and Grenå (The Ranch Game Incubator).
There's also an exhibition area where student projects from Denmark and Sweden will be showcased alongside products from the industry. Above all, this conference will be an excellent opportunity for students, alumni, and industry to come together to share experiences and create lasting bonds between each other. This is the last week at the campus for some of our students, and an important event for the students involved in our game development projects, so we encourage all attendees to take part in their celebrations.
Scandinavian Party – Wednesday Evening
The conference will conclude with a party the evening of the 4th, where we screen a couple of short films from The Animation Workshop and have short Q&As with the directors, as well as an alumni panel where students are welcome to share their experiences (or just vent their gripes!) from their time at the university and in the games industry.
Registration and attendance
Registration and attendance is free. We will provide registered attendees with coffee and refreshments throughout both days.
