I focus on the molecular link between androgen excess and the development of reproductive disorders, obesity, and type-2 diabetes in females. Our overall aim is to investigate new treatments and identify the underlying mechanisms that improves or protect against the development of diabetes and infertility.
My line of research has evolved from more than 10 years of experience in whole-animal physiology studies involving endocrinology, metabolism and reproduction. In 2010, I returned to the University of Gothenburg after a postdoc at the Garvan Institute for Medical Research, financed by the Swedish Research Council. In 2015, I started up my own lab and line of research at the University of Skövde. I am currently co-supervising PhD students and my lab is regularly taking on undergraduate students to be involved in our projects.
