      BaltSe@nioR 2.0

The Swedish part of the BaltSe@nioR 2.0 joint project is headed by associate professor Catharina Gillsjö at the School of Health Sciences, University of Skövde. The partnership in the project includes a number of partners from countries around the Baltic Sea and is financed by the Interreg BSR, the Baltic Sea Region Program.

An aging population and a decreasing proportion of working age people is a major challenge for Europe and the European welfare society at large.

The BaltSe@nioR 2.0 is a joint project between actors in communities, regions, national public institutions, the business sector, universities, organizations and civil society in nine different countries around the Baltic Sea to create innovative solutions for safe and secure built environments, indoors and outdoors, for senior citizens. Most importantly the features of the environment and the service given must be purposeful, generally accessible and counteract ageism.

      Functional IT-solutions

Together with the target group the participating partners and associated actors, will identify the needs of senior citizens in various built environments to create efficient, integrity preserving and innovative solutions for service and design of user-friendly environments both indoors and outdoors. Functional IT-solutions for increased safety and security is an integral part of this work.

The Swedish part of the BaltSe@nioR 2.0 project is housed at the SHC (Skaraborg Health Technology Center), which is the projects demo arena at University of Skövde. The demo area is designed to facilitate collaboration. The Tibro Municipality, Sweden, is part of the Swedish partnership in this project through a local collective agreement with University of Skövde. Increased growth for small and medium sized companies is a goal in the project.

The Life Science faculty at the University of Poznan is the project coordinator of BaltSe@nioR 2.0.
