The support and management services include, organizationally, the different Offices of the Support Services and the Vice-Chancellors Office. Work in support and management services is largely about creating good conditions for operations in education and research. This includes, using a wide definition, conditions concerning the University as an authority, employer, contract partner, and actor in society.

It states that the quality assurance in support and management services, as well as other quality work at the University, is based on the improvement cycle.
Activities to ensure and develop quality
The support and management services participate in a number of activities aimed at quality assurance and quality development of the University's operations. In some cases, support and management services has a governing role for the activity and in other cases a supportive role. Below is a list of some of the activities where operational and management support has a governing role.
Development of annual report
The purpose of the annual report is to perform annual follow-up towards national and local goals for the operation. The national goals are mainly found in the Higher Education Act and the public service agreements, while the local goals are stated in the University’s development plan. The annual report also includes financial follow-up towards the overall budget.
The purpose of the activity is to follow up the study environment, from the students' perspective.
Entering into and following up international collaboration agreements
The purpose of the activity is to ensure that the University's collaboration with foreign higher education institutions in education is conducted in accordance with the strategic direction found in the development plan and operational plans.
The work within the support and management services is continuously monitored by external parties, primarily authorities such as the Swedish National Audit Office. Follow-up of certain parts of the work of the support and management services also takes place within the framework of the The Swedish Higher Education Autority (UKÄ) reviews.
