The digitalisation of our society is happening fast, and it is creating a new playing field for both our personal and professional lives. The current trend is that social robots will spread in a way similar to personal computers and mobile phones during the last 20 years, and in the industries of the future robots are likely to be your work colleagues.

This is a unique study programme, as it not only provides knowledge in interaction design and robotics, but also focuses on the design and the evaluation of the interaction between humans and robots. You will gain knowledge and skills about the human-robot interaction from a human perspective, our conditions and limitations, and the requirements and needs we place on a robot. This aims at creating robots that we feel are safe, natural and comfortable for us humans to interact with. You will have access to a variety of social and collaborative robots in our own robot lab.
The focus of your studies
The programme provides you with comprehensive knowledge in psychology, interaction design, informatics and robotics. You will take courses in industrial ergonomics, technical leadership and scientific methodology.
During the programme, you will learn about current research and development in the field of human-robot interactions and use the robot lab. A majority of the teachers in the programme have experience in human-robot interaction research and are working on ground-breaking projects thus exposing students to the latest trends in this important and exciting area.
Representatives from companies and other partners add case studies to the curriculum, and some courses will be conducted in collaboration with industry companies and other organisations.
Upon completion of your studies
There is a large need for people who have knowledge and skills in the field of robot-human interactions, who can develop new application fields for robots, for example in the manufacturing industry, health care and other robot-like applications.
After completing your degree, you will also be eligible for post graduate studies in Informatics.
