Review articles do not report the results of individual studies. They describe, analyse, summarise and evaluate published research within a limited subject area. Review articles provide a good overview of research within a subject area.
They are a useful way of finding references to original articles (empirical studies). In contrast to review articles, original articles report the results of new research for the first time.
Review articles can be found in scientific journals, as well as in reports and certain types of books.
