Effect of EMLA® patches for reducing pain associated with sterile water injections - a randomized controlled trial
The aim is to study the effect of local anaesthesia (EMLA®) on pain associated with sterile water injections. Healthy volunteers (n=120) will be randomised to one of four groups 1) sterile water injections after application of EMLA patches, 2) isotonic saline injections after application of EMLA patches, 3) sterile water injections after application of placebo patches, 4) isotonic saline injections after application of placebo patches. The study protocol is registered in Clinical Trials.gov (NCT02213185). Data collection started in Sweden in September 2014 and was finished in December 2019.
A comparison of two versus four sterile water injections for the relief of back pain in labour: A randomised controlled equivalence trial
In this RCT 354 women will be randomised to two or four injections of sterile water as pain relief for labour pain. The study protocol is registered on the Australian New Zealand Clinical Trials Registry (No ACTRN12613000863730). Data collection started in Australia in December 2012 and was finished in December 2017.
