The project ”Measuring and Managing Continuous improvements in Medium-sized Manufacturing Companies” (MMC²) is a collaboration between three schools at the University, The School of Engineering Science (Virtual Systems Research Center), The School of Informatics (Informatics Research Center) and The School of Business, and four medium-sized manufacturing companies in the west of Sweden.
MMC² has two general aims: One is to increase the body of knowledge about how medium-sized manufacturing companies work with continuous improvements, which challenges they experience and how they can be overcome. And the other is to design a performance management and measurement system, specifically targeting medium-sized manufacturing companies, to meet continuous improvement challenges. The system should include structures (e.g. for regulatory documents and decision making) and processes, as well as IT-support.
