PLC and Robot Programming with Virtual Models

PLC and Robot Programming with Virtual Models

The need for virtual models in PLC and robot programming is growing steadily, but few people are familiar with the technology at the moment. Do you manage automated solutions in your day-to-day work that are not easy to commission or upgrade, and see that lots of time could be saved by switching to virtual models? If so, this course is for you.

During the course, we will explain how you can become more effective in your professional role through increased use of virtual models. The course also gives you an in-depth understanding of virtual commissioning technology.

The term “virtual commissioning” refers to the use of virtual models to develop and commission PLC and robot programs as part of the automation process. The aim of this is to streamline the use of time and resources throughout the project. The model can also be used to carry out acceptance testing or operator training.

Understand how virtual models can help you

Using virtual models can help you become more efficient when developing PLC and robot programs. For this, we will be looking more closely at the latest findings related to virtual commissioning, along with a number of case studies. You will be able to practise with virtual commissioning models later on and use them to program PLCs and robots and, eventually, analyse their benefits. This excellence enhances company efficiency and sustainability.

The course consists of lectures, exercises, discussions and laboratory sessions (laboratory exercises are compulsory).

A brief presentation on the results from the exercises will be given at the end of the course.

After completing the course, you will be able to:

      • demonstrate an understanding of appropriate applications for virtual commissioning,
      • demonstrate an ability to use virtual models to develop and commission automated solutions,
      • justify the use of virtual models to develop automated solutions,
      • describe and discuss research articles in the field of virtual commissioning.

      Who is the course for?

The course, which will be delivered through the medium of Swedish, is aimed at PLC and robot programmers and professionals from small and medium-sizes enterprises or large organisations with an interest in understanding how virtual commissioning can support company processes, with its limitations and drawbacks.
