Privacy, Information and Cyber Security – Master's Programme, campus

We are the programme coordinators for the Privacy, Information and Cyber Security (PICS) master. On behalf of myself and my colleagues, we want to congratulate you on your admission to the program and the University of Skövde. We are genuinely looking forward to meeting you when the semester starts.

      Registration

You will need to register for the study programme before the programme starts to keep your place on the study programme. To be able to register you must first activate your user account at konto.his.se

The registration for master and bachelor students admitted via UniversityAdmissions.se is made in person when you arrive in Skövde between August 16–25: his.se/en/education/newly-admitted/registration

      If unable to attend

If you cannot come to the First programme meeting, please contact me via e-mail for another arrangement; otherwise you risk losing your place.

      Programme introduction

The autumn semester starts on Monday the 28th of August 2023 and the programme introduction will take place from 10:15 to 12:00 in room G327 (house G).

      About the programme

The PICS masters’ is developed in cooperation between researchers and practitioners in the cyber security domain, and the programme is tightly tied to our collaboration platform (also called PICS) that brings together researchers and practitioners within security. We hope the programme will provide you with a challenging experience that allows you to learn and understand the PICS area and, of course, have an enjoyable time doing that.

The studies are designed to be dialogue based. This means we will mix lectures, supervision, seminars, and group assignments and expect you to participate. Our pedagogical approach is that we use dialogue to learn. Several scheduled sessions will be mandatory, and some are not. We expect you to participate actively in all our sessions to get the most out of the programme.

We would like to note that the programme is a full-time study programme, meaning that students are expected to spend about 40 hours of work per week. Many of the sessions will be live that are not recorded. Distance students will connect to the sessions using Zoom and mix with the campus students.

You will get more information about the time and (digital) place for the first sessions closer to the start of the semester. If you have any questions regarding the programme, you are welcome to e-mail us.
