There may currently be difficult accessing articles from Elsevier when you are off-campus. We hope the problem will be resolved as soon as possible. As a temporary solution, you can create an account with Science Direct to access articles.
Update 2025-01-07: Problem resolved.
To create an account with Elsevier, follow the steps below:
- Go to https://www.sciencedirect.com/
- Click Sign in / Sign in via organization at the top right/menu (it may look slightly different depending on whether you are using a computer or mobile).
- Enter your email address, it must be of the type @his.se or @student.his.se.
- Click Submit and continue (do not select any organisation).
- An email will be sent from Elsevier to the email address you entered.
- Click the confirmation button/link in the email.
- You will be redirected back to Science Direct where you can create an account.
- The account can then be used to log in to https://www.sciencedirect.com to access the University’s material. Log in via My account.
Note that the account is only valid on the Science Direct website. If you find an article from Elsevier in another database and get an error message, you need to search for the article again directly via https://www.sciencedirect.com and log in with your created account. It is also a good idea to log in to the Science Direct website in a separate browser.
We hope that the problem with remote access to Elsevier will be resolved as soon as possible.
