A selection from Artverkstan is an exhibition of sculptures made from driftwood by Diana Viske, which will be shown in the University Library during the winter and spring of 2025.
Diana Viske works primarily with sculpture and drawings preferably using natural materials such as driftwood, smoke and charcoal as tools. The souls of animals and nature are recurring themes in her work.
The organic forms of driftwood entice one to search for life and forms of living creatures. Serendipity has a given place in the artistic process and the shapes of the pieces of driftwood are left untouched. The expression itself determines when the pieces are combined to create new, unique and sometimes imperfect birds.
The exhibition is to be found just inside the library entrance and can be seen during library opening hours.
