When writing assignments and degree projects, it is important to know about language and text.
Blekinge Institute of Technology, Kristianstad University, Linnaeus University and Umeå University have produced Writingguide.se, a website where you can find out more about academic writing and reference management.
Using texts written by others without citing the source is not permitted. The University uses Ouriginal to check assignments against existing texts. There are various guides with more information about copyright and plagiarism, see the page about plagiarism.
Correct referencing and citation involves using different reference management styles. APA is a common style used on many programmes at the University. Other referencing styles include Harvard and Vancouver. Be consistent when managing references in your text, and only use one style. More information can be found at the page about referencing.
