In order to keep your study place in the course/programme you need to follow two steps:
- Create and activate your student account
Admitted students via UniversityAdmissions.se will be able to activate their account in January. - Register on the course/programme you have been admitted to.
Registration for each student category
The registration process for the first semester is different depending on your admission category. Please observe that registration for the following semesters is done through the university’s Student Portal.
How to register (per category)

Registration to master’s and bachelor's programme in English is done after you arrive in Skövde by visiting the Student Affairs Office, located in house E, floor 2, on one of the following occasions:
- Tuesday 12 January
- Thursday 15 January
- Friday 16 January
Last day to register:
- Monday 19 January at 08:15–09:15
Last day to register due to residence permit delays:
- Monday 9 February 2026 at 08:00
For late registration between 20 January and 9 February, please visit the Student Affairs Office during opening hours.
Please note that if your residence permit has been granted with enough time before the official start of the semester, the registration deadline for you is 19 January.
ID is required for registration, so you need to be prepared to identify yourself by showing your passport.
Changes on the registration date and time may occur, please check the information on this webpage regularly for updates.

There are no distance learning master’s programmes offered in English in the Spring semester 2026.

Registration for admitted students to courses or programmes in English is done through the Student Portal (Studentportalen). Log in to Studentportalen using your student account. Go to Course registration under My studies and follow the instructions.
Web-registration period for Spring semester 2026: 2-12 January, 2026.
After your registration
Once you have registered, the courses will disappear from the registration page. They can then be found directly under the current semester on the start page of My studies in Studentportalen. Here you will also find facts about the course, including the syllabus and literature list.

Registration will take place at the University of Skövde.
The International introduction will introduce you to the university, its facilities and services, and inform you about courses, exams, and academic procedures.
You will be advised about your study plan and given the schedules for all your courses. You will also be guided through practical things such as registration, residence permits, computer and library access etc. Your presence is extremely important, as you will be enrolled at the University during this week.
Conditionally admitted as a final year bachelor’s student
Conditionally admitted means that you are currently in the final year of bachelor’s studies and are expected to fulfil the eligibility requirements by the start of the programme.
To be able to register, you must present the required documents proving that you have successfully completed your degree. You must provide: original complete academic transcript and official degree certificate(s)/diplomas(s), along with certified translations if applicable by the start of the programme in Sweden.
- If you are an international student, please upload your documents to UniversityAdmissions.se/Antagning.se as soon as you get them, so that they are registered in the national admissions system when you arrive in Sweden. Also notify admission@his.se that there are new uploaded documents to be checked.
- Students who have completed bachelor's studies at Swedish universities just need to notify admission@his.se when results have been published or degree certificate has been awarded.
