– I hail from Lagos, Nigeria, I was born and raised in Nigeria.
How is it to study in Skövde?
– Studying in Skövde has been a wonderful experience! The city is cozy and student-friendly, creating a close-knit community where it's easy to make friends. With proximity to almost everywhere you want to visit, exploring the area is a breeze. There's a great balance between academics and social life, with plenty of cafes and hangout spots. Everyone is always happy to help with any concerns, especially for international students, which makes settling in much easier. Plus, being surrounded by beautiful nature adds to the overall charm of living here!
Why did you choose to study this program?
– I chose to study intelligent automation because I've always been intrigued by the power of technology to transform everyday tasks. Growing up, I would watch how machines and software could simplify complex processes, making life easier for people. This curiosity led me to explore how automation could not only boost efficiency but also create innovative solutions in various industries.
When I discovered the field of intelligent automation, it felt like the perfect fit. I wanted to dive deeper into how artificial intelligence and automation work together to solve real-world challenges. The program has opened my eyes to exciting possibilities and has fueled my passion for driving positive change through technology. Plus, I love that it’s a rapidly evolving field, ensuring I’ll always be learning and growing in my career!
What is the biggest advantage of studying at a small school like the University of Skövde?
– One of the biggest advantages of studying at a small school like the University of Skövde is the sense of community it fosters. Here, I feel like I’m part of a tight-knit group where I can easily connect with both my professors and fellow students. This personalized attention has made a huge difference in my learning experience, allowing me to ask questions and get feedback without feeling intimidated. Additionally, the smaller class sizes mean more engaging discussions and collaborative projects, which fosters team bonding. It creates an environment where everyone feels valued, and I’ve formed friendships that I know will last beyond my time here. Overall, it feels like a supportive place to grow academically and personally!
What do you want to do for work in five years?
– In five years, I envision myself working in a role that focuses on implementing intelligent automation solutions in a dynamic company. I hope to be part of a team driving innovation, solving real-world problems, and contributing to efficiency improvements across various industries. I also see myself continuing to learn and grow in this rapidly evolving field!
What tips would you offer a new student?
– For new students, I recommend getting involved in clubs or student organizations to meet new people and build a support network, staying organized with assignments and deadlines using planners or digital tools, and not hesitating to ask questions for clarification from professors or classmates. It's also important to explore campus resources, such as libraries and study areas, and to find a balance between school work and play by taking breaks and enjoying social activities to maintain motivation and happiness throughout your studies.

– The best thing about the University of Skövde is its strong emphasis on practical learning and innovation. The programs are designed to bridge theory with real-world applications, allowing students to gain hands-on experience in their fields, exemplified by initiatives like ASSAR Industrial Innovation Arena. ASSAR provides students with hands-on experience and opportunities to work on real-world projects, collaborating with industry partners.
What is the best thing about Skövde?
– The best thing about Skövde is its cozy atmosphere and friendly community. With beautiful nature all around and a central location for easy access to nearby cities, like Gothenburg, Stockholm. It's a great place to live and explore. Plus, everyone is always ready to help, making it welcoming for newcomers!
What did you know about Sweden before you moved here?
– Before moving to Sweden, I knew it was famous for its high quality of life, beautiful nature, and strong emphasis on sustainability. I had also heard about its excellent education system and progressive values, like gender equality and social welfare. Overall, I was excited to experience its unique blend of modernity and tradition!
What was the biggest surprise to you about being a student here?
– The biggest surprise about being a student here was how welcoming and supportive the environment is. I was initially apprehensive about coping as an international student, but once I arrived and met a diverse set of students, I quickly felt a sense of belonging. It was reassuring to know I wasn’t alone in this journey, and the connections I made helped ease my transition significantly.
What do you do in your free time?
– In my free time, I enjoy taking long walks to appreciate nature and unwind. I also like to read, watch movies, and try out new recipes in the kitchen. Connecting with friends, whether through studying together or just hanging out, is important to me too. Overall, I try to balance relaxation with activities that inspire me!
What is your favorite course you have taken at the University of Skövde?
– My favorite course at the University of Skövde is Computational Intelligence. I really enjoy the engagement that comes with the assignments and labs. Although it seemed a bit challenging at first, I eventually got the hang of it and found the concepts fascinating. The hands-on experience has made the learning process both enjoyable and rewarding!
