The course has the following entry requirements: passed IT141G Programming Methodology G1N or passed IT120G Programming Fundamentals with C++ G1N (or the equivalent).

The course contains parts that aim to give student knowledge about modern operating systems regarding design and function. The course treats inter alia process handling, primary memory management and important hardware mechanisms that are used in modern operating systems.
