      Admission Requirements

      The course has the following entry requirements: passed IT141G Programming Methodology G1N or passed IT120G Programming Fundamentals with C++ G1N (or the equivalent).

      More than half the effort in software development is devoted to activities related to testing, including test design, execution and evaluation.

      More than half the effort in software development is devoted to activities related to testing, including test design, execution and evaluation. This course will teach quantitative, technical, practical methods that software engineers and developers can use to test their software, both during and at the end of development. This course covers the topic quantitatively, with a solid basis in theory and with practical applications. The topic will be useful to strong programmers in the Computer Science program, as well as engineers, physical scientists, and mathematicians who regularly integrate software components as part of their work. The topic of this course is of interest to and accessible to students in a wide variety of specializations.

      Lectures, seminars and exercises are given by Birgitta Lindström who is coordinating the course.

       

      We usually have one or two guest lecturers:

       

      • Professor Jeff Offutt from George Mason University has published over 100 research articles on software testing and is editor-in-chief for the journal Software Testing, Verification and Reliability.

       

      • Dr Mats Grindal has been working as a test consultant at Enea for more than 15 years. During these years he had gain a valuable insight in software testing practice at many of the larger companies in Sweden.
