For students required to pay tuition fees

      Insurance information

All students required to pay tuition fees enrolled at the University of Skövde are covered by the basic health insurance FAS, issued by the public authority Kammarkollegiet. Please note that this is a basic health insurance only covering emergency medical and dental care 24 hours a day.

The insurance is valid from two weeks before the semester starts until two weeks after the last semester ends. The insurance is valid when applying for a residence permit. This insurance covers only the student, no family members.

For more information, see Health Insurance.

      Tuition fee Invoice

The University of Skövde uses an invoice management system called “Ladok for students”. Admitted students who are required to pay tuition fees will receive an email notification with instructions within two weeks after the selection results are published.

If you do not receive the email notification, visit www.student.ladok.se for payment instructions.

Please note that you cannot pay until the invoice is shown as available in “Ladok for students”.

To log in to the website www.student.ladok.se for the first time, please use your Universityadmissions.se account.

It takes a few banking days before your payment reaches our bank. As soon as the payment is registered your confirmation of payment will be available at www.student.ladok.se under "Installments". The Swedish Migration Agency will automatically receive information once the payment is confirmed. If the payment is not made by the deadline stated on the invoice, this will be considered as a cancellation of your study place.

Applications for residence permit require different types of time-consuming assessments. The sooner you pay the first installment of the tuition fee, the earlier you can send your application for residence permit.

Right to refund if unable to arrive in Sweden

If you are not able to register and join the programme on campus by 29 September, you have the right to apply for tuition fee refund:

      • Without reason until 21 September 2025.
      • Due to a denied residence permit or a residence permit application still being processed or if your residence permit is granted close to the last day for arrival that hinders you from arriving in Sweden on time.

Please note that, according to our Guidelines regarding tuition fees (HS2023/860), the university charges an administrative fee of 8000 SEK when tuition fees are refunded.
