In this course, the student is given the opportunity to independently explore a scientifically relevant question in bioinformatics, from idea to finished analysis. By combining previous knowledge with new methodology, the ability to analyze complex biological data, evaluate results critically and communicate the insights in different formats is trained. The course also highlights ethics, gender equality and societal relevance, and concludes with an oral presentation, posters and scientific dialogue.
In this course, you will do a degree project in bioinformatics at an advanced level, which means that your project must be research-related. The scope of the project corresponds to 20 weeks of full-time studies. You will deepen and apply your bioinformatics knowledge while gaining practice in using a scientific approach when planning and implementing a research-oriented project. The results of the project are presented in a written report and with an oral presentation followed by an opposition.
