      Application guide for

      Follow the guide below to complete your application for exchange studies. The application is open until October 15, 2020.

      Exchange students at the University of Skövde submit their course applications via the national Swedish university application service, Below you will find a step-by-step guide on how to submit your course applications.

      The website is for both national and international students, and therefore contains information that is not valid for you as an exchange student.

      Please ignore all information (including course listings) on the website and instead follow the instructions given in this guide.

      Application guide spring 2021

      • 1. Create an account

        Go to

        Fill out all the mandatory information and create your account.

        The link above should only be used to create an account. Ignore all other information that appears on the website!

      • 2. Confirmation from University Admissions in Sweden

        You will receive a confirmation e-mail when your account has been successfully created. The confirmation email looks something like this:

        Please be aware that the confirmation e-mail contains information that is NOT valid for you.

      • 3. Select courses

        Open the document "Courses in English: Spring 2021" that you have received via e-mail. In this document, every individual course is represented by two rows.

        The first row ("General course information") is a link that you can click on for more information about the course.

        The second row ("Course application") contains the web address that you must use if you want to apply to this course. Please observe that the second row may not work as a clickable link; in this case, you have to copy and paste the address in another window.

        You need to open a window and paste in the address for each course that you want to apply to (or, if possible, click on the link). You will have to use for example Google Chrome as a web browser (Internet Explorer will not work).

        You will be redirected to the log in page on, so you can log in. The course in question will then have been added to your application.

      • 4. Add courses to your application

        For every course that you want to apply to, you need to copy and paste in the course application address (or click on the link). The courses will then be added to your application on

        Add courses in order of preference (the courses that you are most interested in should be ranked the highest). You may change the order of your courses by using the blue arrows to the right:

        You can only apply to the courses that are included in the document "Courses in English Spring 2021". You may NOT choose other courses that you see on

        Please make sure that you apply to courses that represents at least 30 credits (=one semester of full-time studies).

      • 5. Verify your selection

        When you have added all courses that you want to apply to, click on the blue "continue" button on the bottom of the page. You will then be redirected to a confirmation page, where you are asked to select your country. You do NOT have to select a country in the roller menus. Instead, you may move on to the next step which is to click on the "submit" button.

      • 6. A confirmation of your application will appear on the screen

        You will now receive an e-mail confirming your submission of the application.
        Please save a copy for future reference.

        Ignore the links/information regarding "documenting your eligibility for studies" as this is not for exchange students, and instead follow the coming instructions in this guide.

        Make sure that you have selected the right courses (in the correct order of preference) and then click on the blue "ok" button.


      • 7. Submit the required documents

        The text in the yellow box tells you to check our instructions regarding what documents you need to submit. You will find these instructions in the document "Application Procedures for Exchange Students – Spring Semester 2021".


      • 8. Submit the required documents (continued)

        Click on "Documents" via My pages on the top of the page:

        Then click on the "Upload documents" button.

      • 9. Prepare the required documents

        You will now see a yellow window with information about documentation. Please read these instructions before you try to upload any documents.

      • 10. Required documents

        The documents that you need to submit are the following:

        • A scanned copy of an official transcript of your university records in English and in original language.
        • English Proficiency Certificate.
        • A scanned copy of your passport (or Identity Card for European citizens).

        If you are applying for courses on master’s level you also must submit:

        • A scanned copy of your Bachelor’s degree Certificate (diploma) accompanied by your transcript of records. Other certified proof from your home university will be sufficient if you have not received your diploma yet.
        • A scanned copy of an internationally recognized English test.
      • 11. Upload your documents

        Once you have prepared your documents and scanned them into PDF files, it is time to use the uploading function:

        • Start by giving your file a name that will remind you later what it contains
        • Select the file to upload
        • Choose a category
        • Click on "Add to the list for upload"
        • Repeat these steps for each document
        • When finished, press "Continue"

      • 12. Upload your documents (continued)

        You will now be asked to confirm that you have added the correct files. Check the information carefully.

        You also need to certify that all information in your application is true and authentic by clicking in the box.

        Press "Submit".

      • 13. Confirmation of uploaded documents

        You will now see a confirmation of which documents you have submitted, divided into different categories.

        You cannot open or access the uploaded documents; you only see the names and filenames. The name may help you to remember what the file contains.

      • 14. Send an e-mail to

        You have now completed all steps of the application on!

        Go to "Application" via My pages on the top of the page. Write down your application number for future reference.

        Send an e-mail with your name and application number to in order to notify us that your application is ready. This way we know that you do not intend to add any further documents, and that we can start to assess your application.

      • 15. Your application is submitted!

        You can log into your account any time via

        Up until October 15 you may change your application (add or delete courses, and / or change the order of your course applications). If you want to add a course, the application procedure is the same as when you first applied. Just make sure that you press first "Continue" and then "Submit" to confirm the changes you have made to your application.

        The result of your application – the Notification of Selection Results – will be notified online at Thank you for submitting your application!
