      Printing and distribution of theses

As a doctoral student, you are responsible for ordering the printing of your thesis in good time. Follow these steps.

Contact the printing company no later than 4 months before your defence

At least 3 months before the desired delivery date (i.e. 4 months before the date of the defence), you must contact the contracted printing company.

      Contact person:

      Daniel Larsson
      Email: daniel.larsson@stema.nu
      Phone: 070-810 35 17

What to include in your email

In your email to Stema, state:

      • Desired delivery date (when the theses should arrive in Skövde)
      • Reference and invoicing details
      • If you want the proof copy sent to an address other than:

        University of Skövde
        Attn. First name Last name
        Box 408
        SE-541 28 Skövde

      • If you want to print a different number than 100 copies.

      What happens next?

Stema will respond with a complete schedule for the printing process. The schedule is also sent to the Marketing and Communications Office (AMK): kommunikation@his.se

      Approval of the proof

For the first proof, Stema sends a PDF proof to both you and AMK. AMK must approve the proof by the date indicated in the schedule. If you make major changes after AMK’s approval, Stema must contact AMK again for a new approval.

      Delivery

Stema delivers the printed copies according to the schedule to:

      University of Skövde
      Reception, Building G
      Högskolevägen 3
      SE-541 45 Skövde

The package is labelled with your first and last name.

      Distribution

The PhD student is responsible for distributing the thesis, at the time of the announcement, to:

      • University Library (2 copies + electronic version)
      • University's registrar (1 copy)
      • Opponent (1 copy)
      • Doctoral: Grading committee, deputy and chairman (5 copies) / Licentiate: Examiner (1 copy)
      • Supervisors (1 copy each)
      • Faculty Board (1 copy)
      • Participants and audience at the licentiate seminar (approx. 25 copies)

Other copies are freely available to the doctoral student.

      Printed version

The printed thesis must be available at the University's library at least three semester weeks before the public defence or licentiate seminar.

Delivery of duty copies according to the Act (1993: 1392) on duty copies of documents is handled by the printing company. The university library does not belong to the compulsory copy libraries.

      Electronic version

The electronic version of the thesis must be published in the University's publication database DiVA (Digitala Vetenskapliga Arkivet) no later than three semester weeks before the public defence or licentiate seminar.

For the electronic version of a compilation thesis, only the summarising chapter (kappa) is published in its entirety and for the thesis papers, the bibliographic information is registered. If possible, thesis papers are linked to full text by the publisher or parallel publication is used where possible.

The author takes care of this (including checking agreements for the right to publish partial works).
