The SHIFT CARE Research School – Swedish researcH school in Integrated CARE for Future Teachers – focuses on knowledge development that, through learning and research, supports the transition to Person-Centred Care for individuals of all ages with complex healthcare needs. The research school is run jointly by: the University of Skövde, the University of Gothenburg, the University of Borås and the University West.
Person-Centred Care refers to care that is proactive, health-promoting, and centred around the individual, utilising digital and hybrid solutions, striving for cost-effective and sustainable care of high quality, and fostering seamless collaboration throughout the entire care chain. Teachers from the participating universities are responsible for the education, with international experts also contributing.
Doctoral students admitted to the research school will enrol in the regular doctoral program at one of the four participating universities and follow that university's general study plan. Participation in the research school runs parallel to the regular doctoral program, and the school’s programme, which includes courses, retreats, seminars, and international exchange, is offered as elective courses. The structure aims to prepare doctoral students to conduct cutting-edge interdisciplinary research and teaching in close collaboration with primary care services.
