The purpose of the Research School is to contribute to enhanced capacity for research, development, implementation, and dissemination of digital health innovation. The research school aims to strengthen the supply of expertise and Sweden's role as an international leader in improving health and welfare for patients and the public through new technology.

The research school involves broad collaboration with both the private sector and the public sector, where project ideas are translated into concrete doctoral projects.
The research school will address interesting, challenging, and multidisciplinary issues of significant societal interest, offering great potential benefits in the areas of health and welfare.
By working in collaboration, all participating organisations will be able to benefit from the experience, expertise, and knowledge that each partner contributes, while co-producing new knowledge and innovation to tackle problem areas that require joint efforts from multiple stakeholders.
Through the doctoral projects, the research school will contribute new innovations, knowledge, and skills related to digital innovation in health and welfare.
Additionally, Swedish companies and public organisations will gain access to specialised expertise capable of working with the research and innovation process, including need-oriented approaches, technical design and development, practical implementation, and evaluating change from various perspectives of value and benefit.
The research school's role is to function as a shared learning environment where partners collaboratively create understanding, knowledge, and insights into the co-production of new knowledge and innovations.
