      Quick Facts

      Full project name

Preparedness for sustainable digitalisation: How to avoid use of products and services that cause lock-in of (and lock-out from) digital assets?

      Duration

      December 2025 – May 2026

      Funding and collaboration

Vinnova, ACF Legal Intl, Alingsås Municipality, Combitech, Digitalist Open Cloud, Forsway Scandinavia, Gävle municipality, Habo municipality, Husqvarna, Kunskapsförbundet Väst, Primekey Solutions, Redpill Linpro, Sambruk, Stockholm Vatten & Avfall, Svenljunga municipality, Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority, The Swedish Transport Agency

The project aims to strengthen the public sector’s capacity for sustainable digitalisation. By bringing together organisations and experts, new working methods are developed that promote open, flexible solutions and reduce dependence on systems that are difficult to replace.

"By developing new ways of collaborating on digital services, the project creates the conditions for more open and smarter solutions. This makes the public sector more flexible, reduces dependencies and provides better opportunities to use resources efficiently."

Jonas Gamalielsson, Senior Lecturer in Computer Science

The project lays the foundation for an implementation project that develops new forms of collaboration for the acquisition, development and use of products and services that provide the conditions for sustainable digitalisation in the public sector that enable data portability and avoid unwanted lock-in.

A consortium is established by organisations and experts who are motivated to address fundamental problems in today's practice for the acquisition of products and services that hinder sustainable digitalisation.
