Through BioS, the university collaborates with businesses for research and education. Hand-in-hand with industry, the university trains doctoral students and produces research results that industry can directly put to use.
Research collaboration can take various forms. The most common is for a company to support research through funding, but a company might likewise help with equipment or analysis.
Jonas Christoffersson is a postdoctoral fellow in bioinformatics at the university. Together with a research team in Vancouver, he is working on a cell-culture technique called bioprinting to create and rebuild heart tissue.
