The Curriculum Committee role
As delegated by the Faculty Board, the role of the Curriculum Committees includes:
- the establishment of courses (including courses from non-credit-awarding commissioned education)
- the ratifying of course syllabi (including course descriptions for non-credit-awarding commissioned education)
- the discontinuation of courses
- the amendment of study programme syllabi
The Faculty Board makes decisions concerning ratifying of new study programme syllabi.
Education Committee for third cycle studies in Informatics
The role of the Education Committee for third cycle studies in Informatics is to develop and coordinates education that is conducted at the School of Informatics (IIT) and the School of Engineering Science (ING).
The Education Committee is led by the subject coordinator (chair) and the director of studies (vice-chair) for third cycle education within the field of Informatics.
As delegated by the Faculty Board, the role of the Education Committee includes:
- the establishment of courses
- the ratifying of course syllabi
- the discontinuation of courses
- the amendment of the general syllabi
Other roles include collaboration with the research schools at the University that are connected to the educational programme, the overall planning of common activities for third cycle studies, and the following up of research students' progression through the study programme.
