As an employee with us, you are offered a wellness allowance of up to SEK 2,000. You can use this if you for example spend your free time at the gym, enjoy swimming or a massage. It can be used for a variety of activities based on the Tax Agency's guidelines. The university also has a gym on campus that can be used by all employees.
Doctors, behavioral scientists, nurses and physiotherapists/ergonomists work at the University's procured occupational health care and are at the University's disposal. These services are ordered by your boss and the main rule is that the issues and/or problems must be related to your work tasks or your workplace. As an employee with us, you may also be entitled to doctor's visits during paid working hours and may receive compensation for healthcare visits and medicines. As an employee, you can book a first visit to corporate health on your own initiative, after which your boss must approve further visits.

We strongly believe that it is together we are able to move the University forward and therefore your individual competence development is one of our main focus areas. In combination with the University’s goals, your competence development is followed up annually during your staff appraisal meetings. As part of the teaching staff, there are also several different opportunities for development, including the opportunity to apply for promotion, international exchange to one of the University's partner universities, acquisition of educational qualifications and time-limited managerial and leadership assignments within the University.
As a permanent employee in a government agency, you have the right to be on leave to try another government job. The leave is granted for up to two years, on the condition that you have been permanently employed for at least 12 months before (probationary employment is included). The new employment must be a probationary employment or fixed-term employment.

The university works actively for a sustainable working life, and your recovery is an important part of that. You are entitled to 28 vacation days as an employee with us. From the year you turn 30, the number of vacation days increases to 31 days and from the year you turn 40, you can use a total of 35 vacation days per year.
Teachers have annual working time, which gives you great opportunities to influence your working time arrangement. For administrative staff, we offer flexible time agreements. As a TA employee (Technical and Administrative Staff), you are covered by the University's working time reductions, which are more far-reaching than the government agreement.

It is important to us that you feel safe at work and as an employee of the University you are covered by our insurance if, for example, you are injured at work or become ill.

You also earn an occupational pension as an employee with us. A collectively agreed pension that supplements the statutory pension that everyone is covered by. You are also given the opportunity to exchange part of your salary for a pension.

If you are on parental leave, the University pays a supplementary allowance in addition to that from the Social Insurance Agency (“Försäkringskassan”) so that you receive 90 % of your salary during most of the leave, this applies regardless of how long you have been employed.

We care about our leaders and managers. We welcome both you who have previous managerial experience and you who are stepping into the position for the first time. As head of the University, we want your leadership to be imbued with caring, professional and close leadership. The university offers a well-planned and broad introductory package and internal lectures and seminars take place on an ongoing basis. Through occupational health care and external consultants, there is the opportunity for specific efforts for both the individual manager and management groups.

This benefit is for you who travel by public transport within Skövde municipality or commute from other parts of the Västra Götaland region. As an employee at the University, you have, as a staff benefit, the opportunity to buy a 365-day period ticket for travel with Västtrafik in installments over 12 months at a favorable price. The offer applies to you who are permanently employed or employed for at least one year from the date your period ticket is activated.
The benefit is deducted after tax and is not taxable. In practice, this means that you get the opportunity to buy a period ticket for 365 days in installments, which gives a lower monthly cost than if you were to buy a period ticket for 30 days each month.
