      Gender equality

      Since 2016 much of this work has been carried out under the heading "Gender equality integration” (jämställdhetsintegrering) . All according to a mission from the Swedish government that started in 2016 and continues until 2025.

      What is gender equality integration?

      Gender equality is a political strategy used to achieve the gender equality goals. Learn more about it at the Swedish Gender Equality Agency (jamstalldhetsmyndigheten.se).

      Action plan

      The University of Skövde has an action plan, a formal document for gender equality. The action plan for gender mainstreaming 2023-2025 will be integrated and there is dedicated resources for the work. In order to integrate gender equality, there is a coordination group and appointed equality coordinators at the University. At times there will also be working consultants hired for education and workshops. There is a close collaboration with a variety of the work with all types om equality questions.

      In principle, all the University's statistics are divided by gender and this is presented in the yearly annual report.

      Education regarding gender equality is given regularly. The education is partly self-produced, but there is also education from the Swedish Gender Equality Agency (Jämställdhetsmyndigheten) offered to the organisation.

      Working enviroment

      A good working environment is important for the University. Education and training in this area are given regularly. Every second year, surveys about work environment are conducted amongst the employees. 

      Gender equality in recruitment and career progression is important and there is a strict regulation and clear guidelines about recruitment and career progression: Appointment procedure at the University of Skövde.

      At the University, there is no tolerance towards discrimination and harassment/sexual harassment. Surveys among gender-based violence including sexual harassment are conducted yearly.
