      Quick Facts

      Full project name

Bioinformatics algorithms for integrated analysis and visualization of omics data

      Duration

      April 2017 – March 2020

      Funding and collaboration

The Knowledge Foundation, AstraZeneca, Takara Bio Europe, University of Skövde

Within AlgorOmics we develop and implement algorithms for integration, visualization, and analysis of large-scale omics data, with applications in stem cell differentiation and drug development.

Omics data integration is complicated and encompasses many significant and unresolved challenges, such as consolidation of data in public repositories, integration of data from different platforms, organisms, and omics domains, as well as standardization of processing workflows and visualization of data and results that facilitates biological insights and knowledge discovery. The algorithms that are developed in this project address these challenges and provide new methods for biomarker discovery and explorative analysis of multi-omics data.

      New biomarker candidates

The expected contributions from the project include the establishment of innovative algorithms, as well as identification of novel biomarker candidates by the application of these algorithms on various types of biomedical data that are generated in the project.
