      INGENIUM focus on sustainability during week 42

      From October 14 to 18, INGENIUM focus on sustainable development for a better tomorrow. During this week you can go to lectures and take part in various activities focusing on sustainable development. Check back regularly for updates on our event schedule. The week starts with a lunch lecture where you can enjoy a sandwich while learning about sustainability!

      Sustainability, Future Generations, and Intergenerational Advocacy: Turning advocacy into actions

      Catherine Carty, UNESCO Chair Manager at Munster Technological University, Ireland. This session will examine the outcomes of the UN Summit of the Future, current calls for Future Generation Commissioners, and implications for university teaching, learning, and research. INGENIUM will provide lunch sandwiches – first come, first served!

      Climate Challenge – Inspiration, New idéas and competitions

      Welcome to the entrance of the G-building for an inspiring morning filled with activities, competitions, and new insights into sustainable development. Here, you'll have the opportunity to contribute your ideas on how the University of Skövde can work more sustainably. You can also help shape next year's Sustainability Week – what would you like to see on campus related to sustainability? We will offer delicious refreshments and challenge you with exciting competitions where you have the chance to win great prizes. Come and join us – we look forward to hearing your ideas!

      Webinar: What bioeconomy means for sustainabilitiy?

      A circular bioeconomy focuses on organizing economic activities in circular systems that reduce waste, promote regeneration of natural resources, and prioritise sustainable use of biological resources while replacing fossil-based materials. It intersects with sustainability through contributions to climate change mitigation, pollution prevention, and energy sovereignty, with benefits for community health and rural development. This webinar invites staff and students from INGENIUM to map areas of expertise, projects, and learning in circular bioeconomy within the network, aiming to identify collaboration opportunities and strengthen partnerships around sustainability and innovation.

      Interactive Workshop: Inclusion and Intercultural Competence

      Welcome to an exciting and interactive workshop on Inclusion and Intercultural competence! In this session led by Ines Nikšić, lecturer in Swedish, and Karin Jonegård, international coordinator, we will explore how culture and diversity might influence communication, collaboration, and our understanding of one another in a globalized world.
      By enhancing your awareness of diversity, improving cross-cultural communication, and fostering inclusive practices, you'll be better equipped to contribute to social sustainability in today's interconnected world.

      Join us for a fun and engaging workshop where, through a combination of theory, reflective discussions and hands-on activities, you will gain valuable insights and tools that will guide you towards understanding and challenging norms in order to create more inclusive and equitable environments. Both students and staff are welcome to join! INGENIUM will provide a Swedish fika!
