In October, the University submitted a self-evaluation to the European Commission regarding the internal work to improve and strengthen the researchers' work environment. The report has been reviewed and approved. “The approval we have now received from the European Commission is a sign that we are on the right path forward,” says Robin Mesic Krona, HR Specialist at the University of Skövde.
In the autumn 2021, the University of Skövde received the HR Excellence in Research certification from the European Commission. The certification means that the University follows the European charter for researchers and guidelines for the recruitment of researchers (HRS4R). The work with HRS4R is constantly ongoing and part of the long-term plan is the self-evaluation made during the autumn semester. The report was sent to the EU Commission in mid-October, and on November 28, the approval came.
What happens now?
The work continues now. Among other things, the University has recently developed new activities that are part of the long-term plan for HRS4R. In three years, a more extensive self-evaluation will be carried out, which will include a visit from the European Commission.
