Muriel Beser Hugosson has now taken over as Vice-Chancellor for the University of Skövde.
In September, the Swedish government appointed Muriel Beser Hugosson as the new Vice-Chancellor of the University of Skövde. On January 1, she formally took up the position.
─ It is interesting and motivating to begin the assignment as Vice-Chancellor and, together with the staff, continue to develop the University of Skövde. I've been looking forward to this, says Muriel Beser Hugosson.
Straight into everyday business
A change of Vice-Chancellor does not cause the University to reduce it's work pace. Operations are running at full capacity while the outgoing Vice-chancellor leaves and the new Vice-chancellor assumes the role as head of the University. The change of Vice-Chancellor takes place from one day to another.
─ I have read up on the operations of the University of Skövde and had several pre-meetings with senior managers. It suits me well to get straight into the everyday business. Then I quickly get to meet many employees from different parts of the University. In that way I will get to know the organization properly, says Muriel Beser Hugosson.
Inauguration in March
A new Vice-Chancellor are to be inaugurated at a solemn ceremony. The inauguration of Muriel Beser Hugosson will take place in March in connection with the University of Skövde's academic celebration.
Muriel Beser Hugosson is the University of Skövde's fifth Vice-Chancellor since the institution started its operations in 1977.
